1/5/2013 EARWIG AND THE WITCH is nominated for the Fantastic Book Awards 2013

EARWIG AND THE WITCH, a book for younger readers by Diana Wynne Jones and illustrated by Marion Lindsay, has been nominated for this year's Fantastic Book Award, with the winner to be announced later this month. The award is in its 8th year, and is judged by thousand of children in primary schools across the country.
24/4/2013 The Little Rebels Award to be announced on May 11th at the London Radical Book Fair

The fair, held at Conway Hall, London on Saturday May 11th, is hosted by the Alliance of Radical Booksellers. Entry is free, and doors open at 10.00am.
The event consists of various booksellers showcasing radical literature on their stalls, talks from short-listed authors, along with the announcement of The Little Rebels Award and the Bread and Roses Award for Radical Literature. Fingers crossed for Sarah and her nominated book AZZI IN BETWEEN!

12/4/2013 Sarah Garland shortlisted for the Letterbox Library Little Rebels Award

Sarah Garland's picturebook AZZI IN BETWEEN, has been shortlisted for this new prize that awards radical children's fiction in the age group 0-12, promoting or celebrating social justice and equality. The book, published by Frances Lincoln, tells the story of a young refugee in England.
8/4/2013 Successful Bologna Book Fair for Stroud's Lockwood & Co

Bologna 2013 saw great interest in Jonathan Stroud's new spooky series, with two further sales confirmed during the fair. This brings the total sales to 12 countries.

Proofs of the much anticipated first book in Jonathan Stroud's Lockwood & Co. series have now arrived, complete with a spooky interactive app on the front cover !

THE SCREAMING STAIRCASE will be published in September this year.
27/2/2013 Theresa Breslin's DIVIDED CITY to feature in Derry City of Culture Festival

Next week will see another production of the Citizen Theatre's musical production of Theresa's DIVIDED CITY which takes to the stage in Derry~Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The play will feature as part of the CIty of Culture 2013 programme, and will be performed by The Shared City Schools at the Millenium Forum on 4th and 5th March.
4/2/2013 Theresa Breslin's DIVIDED CITY to be performed in South Lanarkshire

Following the success of the Glasgow Citizens Theatre productions of DIVIDED CITY in Glasgow, the play is to have its third run in Scotland. Performed this time by South Lanarkshire secondary students at The Town House in Hamilton, tickets can be purchased through the South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture Box House. Performances will run from 7th February to 9th February.
16/1/2013 Che Golden longlisted for The Branford Boase Award 2013

Che Golden's debut novel THE FERAL CHILD, has been longlisted for The 2013 Branford Boase Award. The book, first in a trilogy, is published by Quercus books.

The shortlist for the award will be announced in the spring.
