Terry Milne was born in Cape Town, South Africa. She danced professionally for two years before changing course to study book illustration at Stellenbosch University where she was taught by
Niki Daly.

She has illustrated both pictures books and fiction for children, including texts by Martin Waddell, Penelope Lively and Jenny Nimmo.

LOUIS' DREAM PLANE, published last year by Frances Lincoln, is the first picture book she has written and illustrated herself.

She now lives in Oxford with her architect husband and two young daughters.
