Sarah Garland has written and illustrated over forty picture books and adventure stories for young children. She is best known for her warm and witty portrayals of family relationships, and for her outstanding work for preschool picture books.

Her board book SPLASH! was selected for the Bookstart scheme to be given away nationally as part of a free pack for new mothers. She has won several awards including a Smarties Prize for SHADOWS ON THE BARN.

Recently Frances Lincoln published EDDIE'S TOOLBOX, a companion to the highly successful EDDIE'S KITCHEN and EDDIE'S GARDEN. They have also republished Sarah's classic preschool series COMING AND GOING, including GOING TO PLAYSCHOOL and DOING THE GARDEN. At present, Sarah is working on a book about a refugee child finding a new home in England.

She lives in the beautiful village of Chedworth in the Cotswolds with
her husband, artist David Garland.
