Lene Kaaberbøl

Lene Kaaberbøl has been a writer for as long as she can remember. As a horse-crazed teen she wrote a series of girl-meets-horse-and-falls-in-love stories : the TINA books. The first two were published when she was 15, the last when she was 17.

In 1988 she published THE MORNING LAND, possibly the first Danish fantasy novel for adults. This was followed by the KATRIONA novels for young people, which combined her passion for horses and fantasy.  Between 2000 and 2003 she published the bestselling SHAMER QUARTET and the W.I.T.C.H. series for Egmont and Disney.

Equally fluent in English and Danish she translates her own novels.

Alongside her writing career she has been a teacher, a copywriter, a publishing editor, and a riding instructor. Today she is a full-time writer with her own publishing company: Phabel & Plott ApS.
She lives near Copenhagen.

The film rights to her latest novel SHADOWGATE have been sold to Nordisk Film and a full-length feature film is planned.
